For almost a decade, I've been teaching non-fiction at Grub Street Creative Writing Center in Boston. I’ve taught everything from three-hour seminars to multi-week courses including Writing to Heal; 6 Weeks, 6 Essays; 6 Weeks, 6 Op-Eds; 5 Weeks, 5 Senses; and Writing Home. With the exception of 6 Weeks, 6 Essays, I have pitched and designed these courses; some have become core Grub Street curriculum. Throughout the year, I run remote Introduction to Writing to Heal seminars, four-and-six-week Writing to Heal I classes, and other non-fiction classes. Check out my upcoming classes!​

The Writing to Heal Program

After several years teaching Introduction to Writing to Heal, Writing to Heal I, Writing to Heal II, and Advanced Writing to Heal as separate classes, I realized that my students were craving a long-form program with a continuous community, so the Writing to Heal Immersive Program was born. This application-based remote program is designed to give students a deep dive into how the writing process can serve as a healing tool for adversity. The program runs from September to May. Applications for the 2026-27 program open 3/30/26 and are due 6/30/26.​
